Italy and Spain drew 1-1 in a friendly on Wednesday as former 1993 FIFA World Player of the Year and Balon d’Or winner, Roberto Baggio returned after a five-year absence to make his international farewell. Baggio played a good match after returning on the National team celebrated by all Italian football fans. The result, though, was secondary for the 30,000 crowd who had turned out to pay tribute to the 37-year-old Baggio. Judging from the scores of banners around the stadium the fans were urging Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni to take him to the Euro 2004 finals in June. To add even more emotion to the ocassion Baggio appeared with the captain's armband after skipper Fabio Cannavaro was withdrawn at the interval. Baggio was granted a standing ovation with a substitution five minutes from time. The entire Stadio Luigi Ferraris stood to applaud this legendary figure and he was almost in tears as he saluted the fans.

'Roberto produced some delicious stuff,' Trapattoni told RAI television. 'It was a shame that he couldn't get a goal from the free kick but it was right to give him the possibility to receive a salute from the fans who showed him so much affection.'

'The game tonight will provide the most beautiful memory of my career...nothing has been as beautiful and emotional as the demonstration of affection that I was given by these fans,' Baggio told Italy's RAI television.

'The applause and the banners this evening, the love of the people are the most beautiful things that will stay inside me,' said Baggio.

'The world appreciates you, Europe admires you, Italy will never forget you - welcome back Roby Baggio,' read a banner

'When Cannavaro went off, the armband should have gone to (Christian) Panucci but Christian gave it to me so that I could finish as captain. It was another splendid gesture,' said Baggio.

Baggio left the field with tears in his eyes... in his heart he said, "Grazie Italia..."
Ciao to the man all of Italy know as II Piccolo Principe or The Little Prince...
Thanx for all the wonderful moments that inspired me to take up calcio...

    Grazie II Divin Codino....

hmm... i wasted another day of hols doing nothing except for going down to sch in the morning for choir meeting. Went to sch at 10am to meet up with the rest at CFA. Went through all the things we need to do for the next 2 sems. Hope we will do a good job. Had post-chalet feedback also and luckily the feedback were all good except for maybe the food. haha.. Then also i realised that i shld have helped shihui booked the chalet cuz i m an islander so got discount. haha.. sorry guys! well then after that, went home to sleep. dunno y felt so tired. actually wanted to go gym and swim after the meeting and i brought all the gear already but was too tired and lack motivation. sigh... slept for the whole afternoon, hope i dun get insomnia later. haha.. well tmr and fri we'll having meeting again. sianz.. tmr cant play soccer with Dean liaoz... hope he jio me again next time... Hmm... feel like watching movie or just go out tmr after the meeting. but dunno anyone would be on enuff or not. sigh... i'm so bored! haha.. hope recruit express call me soon and get me a decent job.
sianz.. tonite is Baggio's big nite yet the F*** tv not showing the match between Italy and Spain. Cant believe they left out such an impt match between 2 of europe's biggest teams. it will be such an emotional match for him and all italian fans. sigh...... nvm.. i'll be praying for Roby tonite. Hope he plays well and get into Euro 2004 squad. The Little Prince's LAst Dance. Forza Roby!

hmm.... what a boring day. been doing nothing the whole day except going down to job agency in the afternoon. Went to recruit express at taka. When i reached there, i was a bit surprised to see a lot of ppl there looking for jobs too. At first, i thought there would not be so many ppl cuz only SMU and NUS ppl have finished their exams. So i had to wait for damn long to be called for an interview. Think the agency themselves might need some part-time staff too! haha.. well, hope they get me a job soon. if not i'll be rotting away at home... After that i went to walk ard in taka. well, there's nothing much to walk also, so i went to delifrance and had lunch. The crab d'iva baguette was delicious! how i wish i can work at delifrance so that i can have delicious bread everyday! but i hate France! i hate Henry! I love Italian food too! haha... anyway, today's newpaper had an article about my idol, Roberto Baggio! finally newpaper wrote something that is non-english. Feels so sad to read abt him retiring.... but good thing is that there are also a lot of crazy fans other than me around in Italy! haha...Here's some parts of the article:
" Even after all these years, the man known throughout Italy as Divin Codino - The Divine Ponytail - remains an idolised sporting hero, a footballer who appeals as deeply to grandfathers as teenage girls"
"thousands will travel to Genoa to pay homage when Baggio slips on an Italian jersey for a friendly agianst Spain. It will be a blue shirt with a white No. 10 on the back."
"After all, they say, even on one leg, Baggio is still Baggio. Small wonder therefore that appreciation given to him is that which is normally reserved for a national treasure."
Roberto Baggio is back... will he still be able to dance? We wait to see......

Bye Roby... We will miss you....

Had a very enjoyable weekend. went to choir chalet cum senior farewell at Sentosa yesterday. Met them at HabourFront to help chaiyen buy and carry the food for bbq and took a cab in. The chalet was VERY big! so shiok! After settling down, some of us went to the beach to chill out. Sadly, no one wants to play volleyball, so me and weizheng went to the platform and practice our diving stunts. haha.. it's a bit stupid but at least we did something if not very sianz. After that i went back to help set up the bbq pit. haha.. long time nv set up bbq liaoz, lucky still not rusty and managed to get the fire started. haha.. but very unfortunately, i cut myself on the wire mesh. damn.. anyway, one funny thing is that it seems i'm not the only casualty, xiugui, jo chong, chaiyen all got injured also. think must be a bad day for bbq. haha.. then after everyone had finish the food, me and sam got everyone in the chalet to play games. Lucky, everything went well as planned, everyone was quite sporting enuff to play the stupid game. *phew* hope everyone enjoyed the game and had fun. Congrats to me and sam for not screwing up. *phew* we've been worrying abt this thing for the whole week. Then after that, weyling gave out the souvenirs to the seniors. hmm... the feeling of having frenz leaving sux! anyway, wish all those seniors leaving all the best in their future endeavours! must come back to see us! After that, those not staying over left and i played mahjong with mich, winnie and lu hong. mich is quite a good player, so dun pray pray. must be training at home to be a tai tai, that's y. haha... At nite, a few of us who plan not to sleep, went up to try to chat thru the nite. but in the end i fell asleep on the floor while the rest went down stairs. haha... i must be too tired after a tiring day. We checked out at noon the next day and had lunch at HabourFront food centre and then all went home to sleep. haha..
Then in the evening, went to meet my SoC frenz for ktv! haha.. but sad thing is that i'm having a slight cough and sore throat so a bit off form today. sigh.. nvm. wait til i'm better then go again. haha.. thanx shiya n peiwen for org this ktv! so what shall our next outing be? haha...
Thanx the new comm for org the chalet. it was a success! must org another one in future! haha... Grazie!

Today went back to sch to help to make souvenirs for graduating choir seniors. At first, i thought the souvenirs would be ordinary and plain looking, but later realised that they were quite nice and well-done! Wow.. great idea and good job, KK! finally me and sam managed to come up with some games for tmr , hope everybody will not find the game boring. we are really not good at games, so pls pardon us. haha... btw, glad that the new comm are doing fine at our (sort of) first project. haha... Hope everything turns out right tmr and also let's pray that weather will be fine and sunny tmr! Sentosa here we come!
Meanwhile, i'm still trying to find jobs by searching through newspapers. But still cant find any yet. Shld i go job agencies for help? hmm... ahh..... must try to find one b4 NTU, jc, sec sch ppl finish their exams! so Anyone got lobang for jobs, pls jio me. thanx.
Been some time since i wrote abt soccer. haha.. Well, this weekend Milan will have the chance to secure the Scudetto if they beat Udinese and Roma fall to Empoli. This would be their 17th Scudetto! 3 more to another star on their black and red stripes! Forza Rossoneri! and also, next week, i would be able see my beloved Roby Baggio play in an Azzurri shirt for the last time. He will be featured in the friendly against Spain on 28th April. Cant wait to catch the Divine Ponytail in action in Italy colours again! It's a must-watch for all Baggio fanactics! So sad that he's gonna hang up his boots at the end of the season, the world of football will lose a genius with phenomenal skills, a legend with such extraordinary career and most imptly a great footballer. In his extraordinary career, he is among the very few who had played in Italy's 3 most successful clubs of all time, Juventus, Milan and Inter. I wish Baggio all the best for life after calcio. Thanx for the great moments! You are always the best! Grazie!

Today, me and my SoC frenz celebrated joelle's very belated b-day cuz the celebration was postponed due to exams. We went to watch 50 First Dates. It was quite a nice movie, sweet and funny! haha.. Rob Schneider is one hell of a funny guy! i was almost rolling on the floor when he does those stupid acts. hahaha!!! For those who havent watch the movie, here's a brief synopsis: Henry Roth (Sandler), a veterinarian at an aquarium in Hawaii, falls in love with a girl, Lucy (Barrymore), with short-term memory loss, but he has to keep getting her to fall in love with him every time they meet in order for them to have a relationship, since she never remembers the last time she met him.
After that, we went to have sushi buffet at sakae. haha.. been waiting for this buffet for very long liaoz, finally went today. haha... ate a lot of sushi and handroll. yummy! but think i didnt eat my fill, dunno y. haha.. while i'm typing this, i'm hungry already! I bought a small cake(cuz some would be very full after the buffet) and we sang her a birthday song in the restaurant. so paiseh. haha.. After that we went walking ard Orchard, went to kinokuniya and then PS. Then have some coffee and chatted at Starbucks. We planned to go Melaka and Xiugui would be our tour guide! haha.. dunno are they serious abt it or not. haha.. sounds fun going overseas with frenz. =) We also plan to go cycling! woohoo!
Overall, had a great and fun day today! First time my whole SoC clique of frenz, 10 of us, went out together. haha.. so fun! hope there will be such opportunity again! hope everyone enjoyed themselves today! Glad that everything went smoothly as planned, and i can finally rest my mind. Hope joelle had a great time too and like the present we gave her! and also Good luck to Stella, sam and liyi for tmr's genes paper! =)

4 down, 1 more to go. The paper on SAt was rather ok. so should be alrite. but that also means that everyone will do alrite too. well, heck it. just hope at least i can do better than in CA. After the paper, went to swim with the other 2 NUS cheap guests. It's the first time this sem that we met for a swim. so shiok to soak in the cool water cuz it's freaking hot nowadays. Sam met his pri sch fren and was chatting rather than swimming. haha... After that went to Queensway with sam to find games but didnt managed to find any. Then walk ard and saw a Billabong sling bag. design quite nice but a bit ex. sigh.. dunno whether shld get it... In the evening went to frenz b-day party at pasir ris chalet. Wah, a lot of ppl there, feel very awkward cuz only know a few ppl there but not very close. Came back only this morning, quite tired....
sigh... one POWERHOUSE paper to go, 3 days to study.... the final hurdle is approaching. will i make it?

Also got back my CA marks for CS2250, and i did really badly.. i merely passed and is probably one of the last in the cohort. How comforting when i'm going to sit for the exam on Sat. now i only just hope for a miracle to do well in the finals to pull up my grade. very low morale now.... just like the soldiers of Gondor...
Sauron's forces have laid siege to Minas Tirith... Will Rohan answer Gondor's call for help?

2 more days to my first paper. This week seems to pass so fast. Hope i'll be ready by then to go to battle. Got to know my CA results. As expected did badly for both my comp modules, got D(b4 moderation) for both. But this is not the end, i've still got the final exams to salvage my pathetic result. One good news is that i've got an A- for my ss project. haha.. first A that i got in uni. Working with princess really produce good results. haha... Thanx my group members(princess, NiC, aYuSaKi, mingli) for the hard work they put in. All the best for the exams! =)

LAst nite watched WWE Wrestlemania XX -- Where It All Begins.... Again. Finally my fav wrestler, the Undertaker has been resurrected and returned to WWE led by Paul Bearer. He won the match against Kane and made it 12 wins out of 12 wrestlemania. He came back as the creepy, eerie Undertaker which he debuted in the then WWF abt 10 years ago. It reminds me the good old wrestling days of Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior(my ex fav wrestler) and Macho Man. Been watching wrestling since pri sch. It's been over 10 years and i'm still a fan of the WWE. It hard to find anyone who watch WWE also these days, but my uncle still does!

Went to see doc today for my mysterious foot pain. It was diagnosed to be ligament tear as what Nana had told me. sigh.... i will be out of action for 2-6 weeks. no soccer, basketball or any other exercises/sports which requires the use of leg. damn.. hope i can recover in time right after my exams, so that i can enjoy my holidays. Didnt expect a simple jogging session with yan would result in such an injury. i even stretched properly before and after my run. Maybe age has caught up with me. or Maybe it's a hint by someone up there to tell me to study harder and not even go for swim or jog. sigh.... dun think i'll go to sch to study with yan and sam liaoz. really painful with each step i take. cant even stand properly... damn... feel so crippled... so handicapped... so helpless.... ='(

The unexpected happened.... damn xie men..
sigh... congrats to Depor for winning in style tonite. Milan got only themselves to blame. They played like pri sch boys. The usual rock solid defence was totally in chaos and they take turns to make stupid mistakes. They were unsettled and sloppy in their tackles and clearances. The first goal was Maldini's mistake when he failed to mark pandiani and allow him to turn and score the first goal. The second goal was a very serious mistake by Dida, he misjudged the cross and couldnt reach the ball, allowing valeron to head home the 2nd goal. The 3rd goal was also a stupid mistake by nesta. Nesta miskicked the clearance and allowed luque thru on goal to score. The 4th was another defensive mistake by cafu and gattuso. Gattuso failed to head away the ball for safety allowing fran to shoot and got a wicked deflection off cafu. Horrible defending by Milan. *shakes head* Milan passes will not fluent and inaccurate. Pancaro's crosses were bad. Pirlo and Kaka lost the battle in midfield while tomasson and sheva were deprived of supplies. No real attacking flair seen tonite. Milan played as if they dun feel like winning, no aggression and motivation. sigh...maybe shld have sub inzaghi and rui costa earlier. Anyway, Well Done Depor, Shame on you,Milan. Boo! boo! boo!
In soccer, always expect the unexpected for u nv know when it will happen. For 2 nites of Champ League football, The very unexpected happened. Every football team have off-days and unfortunately the off-days came at the wrong time for Man U, Juve, Arsenal, Real and Milan. But it's how they cope with the aftermath that helps them to learn and mature. Hope Milan learned their lessons on their sloppy defending. Now, Monaco, Chelsea, Porto and Depor are thru to the semis. A new Champion will emerge. who will it be? More upsets to come? Catch the drama-filled Champion League semis in 2 weeks time.
Lastly, no matter how your team played, end of the day, it is still your team! Forza Rossoneri! All is not lost yet, go get the Scudetto! and also tonite has confirm how deadly bui's suayness can be. One piece of advice for everyone, dun ever support or bet the same team as Bui. Not that i Pan Dang but it's proven. so xie men til it gives me the chills...

    The DownFall of Arse-nal!!! muahahaha!!!!
    Wednesday, April 07, 2004
Last nite saw 2 supposedly 'great' sides fall out of Champion's League. Arse-nal lost 1-2 to Chelsea while Real Madrid lost 1-3 to Monaco. What a nite! hahaha!! can't wait to see those pathetic look on those LOSER Arse-nal and Real fans out there! ESP. LECK SHIANGJING! Awww.... JUST TOO BAD! jus dun bring your suayness onto Milan. nvm i can counter your suayness!hahaha! both teams dun have what it takes to be the real Champs of Europe. They lack the depth and consistency in their squad to last throughout the season, playing on 3 fronts, domestic league and cup and champ league. Want to know which team has the depth, consistent, all-roundedness and character? The answer is clear. Current European Champions, AC Milan! though i have a feeling they might not win tonite but Depor wun score more than 3 goals. so rest assure that Milan will march thru to the semis as expected. Lastly wanna congrats to yan for his wonderful Chelsea whipping the ass of Arse-nal and Monaco for showing the fighting spirit that others should follow and show that Real is not the best team in the world with all it's 'galacticos'. Their leaky defence finally paid the price. Go buy defenders, Real. haha...
Enuff of soccer. back to studies... boring.. Been studying in sch for the past few days with yan, sam and princess. Reading the ss textbook was a torture. so much to read and it's SO BORING! Think computing modules are better cuz less readings, more hand-on stuff. But both SUX! haha.. well, apart from studying, me went running and swimming with yan for the past 2 days. Havent been exercising for a long time. Felt great. But realised my fitness level dropped, muz train more after exams. sigh... currently suffering a foot injury which the cause is unknown. The bottom of the right-side of my right foot(do i make sense here?) hurts like hell when i walk now. cant even stand properly. Dunno what happened. Suffered this pain out of a sudden while studying in the library. Hope it goes off soon, cuz it's really bothering me. *ouch* =(

sianz... what a boring Saturday.... sigh.... did nothing productive today. didnt do any revision today. so guilty.. =P went to pay respects to my grandparents today at Mount Vernon. luckily, there was no jam and not many ppl. Feel like exercising recently but no campanion to go jogging or swimming. feel like playing soccer also. sigh... y izzit that everytime when exams are near that i will tend to want to play rather than study. damn... exams are 9 days away.. that's freaking scary..... but at least the tests i had last 2 weeks helped me to revise some of the modules already. but still got a lot of catching up to do. I hate this time of the year...
After exams, i'm not spared either... Firstly. gotta organise games for choir's senior farewell party, then organise my fren'z b-dae celebration, then FOW games programme, then during the hols might go work, reservist, Choir AEP, workshops, meetings, FOC Summer camp. oh man... going to be a busy holiday too. haha.. but at least better than hitting the books. Gotta train up intensively after exams to prepare for reservist. Gonna meet my wacko, crazy, psycho and totally insane platoon mates soon. haha.. But firstly, gotta do well for my exams first or at least pass all the *beep* modules..
Pray hard for me, guys... *keeping my fingers crossed*

Roberto Baggio has ended all doubt surrounding his future by confirming he will hang up his boots at the end of the season. However, there could yet be another chapter of his troubled Azzurri career, as Giovanni Trapattoni has confirmed he could call Baggio for the April friendly against Spain.

“I hope that this will happen,” smiled the ‘Divin Codino’. “It would give me a great deal of pleasure to wear the Italy shirt again.”

The former World Player of the Year has played for seven clubs during his career – Vicenza, Fiorentina, Juventus, Milan, Bologna, Inter and Brescia.

Finally after days of experimenting and shifting. i finally moved my blog to this website. still quite empty though. will improve it after exams. and i know ppl will ask y i use pink. haha... i think pink is nice and also since everyone's using black, i wanted something different. haha..
    soccer update:
    Portugal 1-2 Italia
    Nuno Valente 6 (P), Vieri 39 (I), Miccoli 76 (I)
With a depleted squad esp. in defence, the Azzurri managed a sweet victory over Portugal. Cant imagine when the likes of nesta, cannavaro, zambrota, del piero and inzaghi return from injury, Italy will be even stronger and unstoppable! Watch out for the sizzling hot Italian team in the coming Euro 2004.
    Forza Azzurri!
